FAQ

Here are some frequently asked questions answered about this campaign.

Barter Black® Day is a national movement where Black entrepreneurs commit to bartering, collaborating, and circulating wealth within the community.
It’s a day to support each other by exchanging services, offering support, and growing together—without needing outside funding.

1. Black entrepreneurs are more likely to seek funding—but less likely to get it.

2. Hiring help is expensive—and many solopreneurs can't afford it.

3. There’s no widely known platform dedicated to circulating wealth among us. Until now.

Barter Black® Day is about shifting that reality.
It’s about building wealth together, by helping each other grow.

It’s your commitment to post about Barter Black® on May 31st for National Barter Black® Day. The goal? Flood the timeline, spread awareness, and help Black entrepreneurs grow through bartering.

Because we’re tired of seeing our businesses struggle—not from lack of talent, but from lack of access.

Black-owned businesses make up less than 3% of employer-run businesses in the U.S.
White-owned businesses? Over 83%.

We created Barter Black® Day to flip that narrative.
To show what’s possible when Black entrepreneurs:

  • Stop building alone

  • Start hiring each other through barter

  • And make collaboration the norm, not the exception

This day isn’t just about posting. It’s about power.
Let’s make bartering the bridge between our ideas and our income.
